From the Series: A compilation of four boxes of correspondence arranged chronologically. For the most part, original file heading titles have been kept. The section is split into family correspondence with Joseph Merrill- Merrill's father-, official correspondence, and general correspondence. The general correspondence was a stack of correspondence that Mrs. Merrill was unable to classify and has been separated into chornological order. The remainder of the general correspondence is a collection of separate folders of specific subject correspondence.
