 File — Box: 1, Folder: 4
Identifier: I

Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The Karl Vernon King papers (1899-1960) include the papers of two generations of a Utah family of lawyers and politicians. The collection is divided into four parts. The first contains materials from and about William Henry King. It includes correspondence, news articles, speeches, and pamphlets. The second section contains Samuel Andrew King's files, which include personal and business correspondence and his legal papers. His correspondence with his brother and business associates illustrates the Kings' involvement in mining, irrigation, and the oil industry. The third section contains some materials regarding Creighton King. The final and largest part of the collection are the files of Karl V. King. The majority of these materials concern his work as an immigration lawyer and his efforts to import Basque sheepherders in the 1940s-1950s.
