Transcripts of briefs and other materials related to Transamerica hearings, instituted by the Federal Reserve Board, to determine if the practices of Transamerica were in violation of Section 7 of the Clayton Act. The hearings began in June 1948 and concluded in June 1951. Transamerica was ultimately ordered to divest itself of twenty-six banks in California, sixteen in Oregon, three in Nevada, and one each in Arizona and Washington. These materials also include documents relating to Transamerica's efforts to disqualify Governors Eccles and Clayton in 1948, and the Federal Reserve Board's efforts to prevent Transamerica from acquiring banks while the hearings were in progress.
