From the Collection:
The journal begins 21 October 1879 when Abraham Hoagland Cannon left on his mission to Europe for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and ends 31 December 1895, six and a half months before his death.
Abraham made daily entries in his journal, which give detailed descriptions of places he saw and events he noted. Also made mention of in his journal are church activities and summaries of sermons, quorum meetings, conferences, and other important events in which he participated. Also mentioned in the journal are some of the events and circumstances relating to his involvement in polygamy.
