Abstract The Oscar Lewis papers (1938) contain correspondence between Lewis, the secretary of the Book Club of California, and the librarian/author Caroline Wenzel, about her commission to write an essay for a lithograph of Sacramento. It also contains a copy of the essay titled "Sacramento, Beautiful City of the Plains."
