Abstract The Peter G. Johnston papers (1896-1961) contain a photocopy of a letter between Johnston and David O. McKay, other correspondence, minutes of a meeting between McKay and the Oakland Temple District, and a paper titled "That Was Peter G: A Review of the Life of Peter Green Johnston" by Peter Budge Johnston. Johnston was a Scottish convert to the LDS Church. After emigrating to the United States around 1881, he became a sheep rancher in Idaho and a member of the Idaho state legislature in 1907.
